As time passes, our skin loses elasticity and volume, resulting in the formation of deep ageing lines. Dermal fillers can plump out these lines and provide youthful volume to the face and lips, producing a beautifully natural rejuvenating effect.
Dermal fillers are made of hyaluronic acid, a natural occurring substance in the body. It is present in the spaces in between the skin cells and is responsible for providing moisture through water absorption, plumpness and firmness in the skin. Over time, the amount of hyaluronic acid in our skin decreases, resulting in many of the changes we associate with the ageing face. Dermal fillers are designed to replenish this lost vital ingredient of a beautiful face.
At Ruma, Southampton, our medical professionals assess every client’s aesthetic requirements as an individual and insist on only using the finest, smoothest product to give beautiful, natural results.
These are wrinkles that form in the corner of the eyes. They can be caused by ageing, sun exposure, expressions and smoking.
When we contract our forehead muscles, deep lines can materialise. Also referred to as an “11”, frown lines form in between your eyebrows. Over time, these lines start to linger and prove to be a bugbear for many.
The use of fillers can smooth and fill out these crepey lines, creating a much softer, younger-looking appearance.
Located just below the corners of the mouth, the marionette lines can make you look sad or angry when relaxing your face.
Thin lips are not necessarily a result of ageing; many men and women are born with thinner lips. If you would like to add volume, but avoid an exaggerated look, PHI Clinic can use the most advance fillers to enhance your natural lip shape.
Also referred to as “smile lines”, these lines run down the sides of the nose to the corner of the mouth. Most of us notice these when smiling, laughing or talking, but over time they can develop into static lines.
Ageing usually contributes to volume loss. The round, full look diminishes as the fat pads in our cheeks gravitate downward.
Inevitably, the skin loses its elasticity and firmness over time. Sun damage in particular can contribute to this aged look on the chest area, and the thinning of the skin can amplify the neck bands, adding years to your appearance.
The results are immediate. The dermal filler will then soften over the following couple of weeks after treatment.
While there are permanent fillers available on the market, we do not use them at Ruma. We prefer the use of temporary fillers, lasting 5-9 months. These fillers are reversible, allowing our clients to have greater control over the results.
An added benefit of dermal fillers is that they encourage your own body to produce its own source of collagen, therefore you may notice you’re your repeated treatment lasts a lot longer than the average duration.
Depending on the treated area, you may be advised to apply cream after treatment to reduce any potential tenderness after the treatment, whilst avoiding extremes of heat and exercise is adviseable.
